If you want to give yourself a „busy city break" from the quiet leisure of the beach, a trip to Šibenik is a perfect option. It is a district center, located 12 km away and has a fully developed infrastructure, including banks, shopping centers, hospitals, beauty and massage parlors, theaters and concert venues. History of Šibenik dates back to the 11th century, and architecture is influenced by the time when Dalmatia was part of the Venetian republic. St Michael's fortress as well as magnificent cathedral of St James are on the UNESCO world heritage list. The town is also know as the gate to the Kornati islands, offering multiple day cruises to this famous archipelago.

Split
The largest city of Dalmatia and your closest airport: Spit has to offer much more than an impressive variety of restaurants and shops. It hosts many musical events during summer, which might make a one day/evening trip very worthwhile. On top, Split was included into the Top 8 European cities with beautiful beaches – and it is beautiful indeed!
Split was founded in the 2nd century BC as a Greek colony, and later became home to Diocletian's Palace which you can still see in the city's historical centre (almost all UNESCO protected). But even a bigger attraction for someone who appreciates history and architecture, is the town of Trogir, nearby Split. A small but valuable "historical jewel", Trogir is world famous for the mix of Renaissance, baroque and Romanesque buildings. Trogir has a high concentration of palaces, churches and towers, as well as a fortress, on a small island, and in 1997 was inscribed in the UNESCO heritage list.

PROSCIUTTO FARM
It is a traditional Mediterranean way to prepare dry meat, and Croatia has perfected it no less than Spain or Italy. If you are curious enough to see how this meat is actually prepared – which is an intricate process involving many months of drying in certain conditions – you will be welcome to visit a small local farm run by Zeljko. He will walk you through his factory and will offer you different varieties or prosciutto, pancetta or other meat delicacies, cut right in front of you.
